Personalized MRI
High magnetic field MRI can provide earlier detection and better therapeutic monitoring of multiple sclerosis (MS) than lower field MRI, but its use is currently limited due to the unpredictable distribution of tissue heating induced by the radio waves used to obtain an MR image. Team MS-SAR is working on hardware and software-based solutions to allow for personalized control of the MRI acquisition to avoid possible unsafe heating. In addition, this technology will also allow for the use of MRI in subjects with implanted brain electrodes.
